How I Wear MY PEACE of jewelry - Black n' Grey
Keepin' It Simple Again
Black n' Grey with
MY PEACE of jewelry
grey t-shirt - Urban Outfitters
black jeans - Levi's
black platform espadrilles - Urban Outfitters
What's more interesting than My Outfit is the statue
'Standing Woman' - Gaston Lachaise, 1932 @ UCLA's Sculpture Garden
The statue symbolizes to me to embrace what you got and don't be ashamed of your body
Living in LA, I've always been trying to get "skinny".
I'm 5'10", 170lbs with hips, thighs and butt
When I say I am trying, I mean I do it within reason (I think)
I workout almost everyday, eat somewhat healthy
except for my daily vodka & limeade
and an occasional pizza, hamburger and fries,
eggs and sausage, steak and spinach dip, Taco Bell, Carl's Jr. Jack in the Box...
Ha!
Really, I work out for my mental sanity.

With My Outfit, I wore this necklace I made, which I feel elevates My Outfit from tomboyish to casual chic

That's a magnificent statue - I love the confidence in her stance! You look fab in your neutrals plus your always-beautiful jewelry. Thanks for sharing with Visible Monday.
ReplyDeleteThanks Patti for having Visible Mondays!
DeleteHi Zalina. I love this outfit on you. You look absolutely great. The necklace is awesome. Love it.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day.
Lenya
They only wish they could look that good!!! You (and the statue) are beyond fabulous, beautiful and curvaceous. I love the casual cool/simple chic of your outfit (as always) and the necklace is really, really beautiful. XXOO
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet comment. Thank you so much.
DeleteI think Patti is right about this sculpture--magnificent. I think you hold a confidence in your stance also. It is in all your pictures and your beautiful and bold jewelry has a powerful presence.

Thank you, Ann. Your blog photos are very inspiring.
DeleteI love your easy style with elevated chicness.
ReplyDeleteSounds like we're on the same diet plan...except I don't exercise or drink alcoholic beverages. haha
Yeah, I'd be in a lot of trouble if I did not exercise and a little alcohol. LOL
DeleteThere's absolutely nothing wrong with your weight or your appearance. You look beautiful and confident and I adore that necklace - you're so talented!
ReplyDeleteAlicia
Thank you, Alicia. I'm just being truthful about my internal battle. It's not all the time but it definitely flares up now and then.
DeleteYeah, the daily vodka and limeade will melt the pounds off! I've never been one to diet, or work out for that matter. I figure I eat fairly healthy, and I feel healthier if I enjoy myself.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! I've always loved that statue (it's in all the art history books) for the way she looks so strong and confident. And I love the pictures with you and the statue together. Art and living art!
Yep, enjoying yourself is the best way to go thru life. I've become more aware of this as I get older. In my 20's always worried about finding a man, 30's had a man but worried about getting married, now in my 40's, I still worry but I work on not worrying about stuff and concentrate on enjoying myself. Thanks, Val
Deletegorgeous woman wearing gorgeous jewellery with confidence. LIKE!

ReplyDeleteThank you, Sharon. You have a great week too.
DeleteI love the statue and how you posed beside it. Two strong beautiful women not ashamed of their curves.
ReplyDeleteYour necklace adds just the right amount of chic to your outfit : )
bisous

DeleteShe's a beauty and so are you! Truly lovely in your simple outfit that is completely elevated by your perfect jewelry.
ReplyDeleteThis has been a good half-century or so for women to embrace their shapes, in spite of all the pressure to do otherwise. Let us hope the celebration of diversity in all forms continues. I'm not just round ... I'm short and round. Tall girls always have more fun, I just know it. There is some grace, though in knowing that you'll never be tall. No hope, no illusions! Wanting to be thin is different, because it is possible. Not always desirable.
Rest assured, our Zalina, that you have it all and creativity plus.
You are so sweet. Remember that old saying, "the grass is always greener on the other side". I know it's not true, but somehow that tends to be our problem thinking this. I agree with you, let's make sure we embrace everyone's figure. Believe it or not, I envy "shorter" women too but again it's wanting what you don't have and not appreciating what we do have. You're awesome, Jan and I am always inspired by your blog. Thank you.
