How I wear MY PEACE - Tone in Tune

Image
Here I am wearing MY PEACE of jewelry . Monday through Friday, when I am walking to work, I walk pass this red wall-   It's an In n' Out Burger restaurant. I was able to take a few shots  before the security man came over and said I was not able to photograph  on the premises without management permission. I was shocked!  It was 10 in the morning  and I was in the frickin' alley! Back to MY PEACE of jewelry.  I am wearing my 3-strand Olive Wood bead necklace.   I like making wearable statement necklaces.     I make PEACEs that fit any attire. MY PEACE of jewelry can be worn with a fancy dress  or paired with jeans and t-shirt. I've seen a few ladies wearing my necklaces and they look so cool how they fit the PEACEs to their fashion sense. When I dress, I think about being relax, comfortable and colorful but pulled together.   My attire is sporty bohemian ...

How I Wear MY PEACE Beachin...

Image
Last weekend, I rode to the beach on my little trusty cruiser (seen here in the background). It was pretty cold. That is why you see me in the army jacket, boots and gloves. I took a few more shots, taking layer after layer off. But! I could not take off the gloves. It was too cold! Brrrrr.... Jacket - thrifted Jeans - BCG, Urban Outfitters (on sale $7 bucks!) Boots - Steve Madden In trying to take my glasses off, they got caught in my hair. Ouch! Sweater - Brandy & Melville Necklace - MY PEACE of jewelry Rock Street Necklace These are actual ROCKS that I found near my apartment. I loved their color, texture and shape so much, I thought they would be great featured. So, I wire wrapped and hung from these cool rustic African brass beads. While at the beach, I took these shots of my CUFFS, which I handstamp positive mantras that I think everyone should REPEAT to oneself and practice what you preach in order to stay centered. Life is not easy, but you can train y...

How I wear MY PEACE of JEWELRY

Image
"Ahhhhhhh, shit!" I take my own photographs. It's kind of difficult because I have a timer (not a hand-held remote), which I set for 10 seconds. I click the button, run in front of the camera, strike a pose, trying to appear calm and then woila! A photograph. Yesterday, I ran in front of the camera, struck a pose, then a gush of wind pushes through and camera starts to fall and this shot was taken....lovely. I saved the camera from falling. Thank goodness! Jewelry or clothes do not have to be expensive to be well made. I picked up these great link chains from a shop in the Alpine Village in Torrance. Alpine Village is known for their month long Oktoberfest. Besides that, there is NO ONE there except the regular old-timers eating their bratwurst and beer. Anyway, went there a few weeks ago, just browsing the shops and ran accross this old guy, who had a storefront, but did not use it as such. Instead, he stored EVERYTHING, I mean EVERYTHING in this little tiny shop, i.e., paintings, clothes, furniture, jewelry; all piled up. The shop was so crammed with stuff you could not step two feet inside. So instead of selling from inside the store, the owner sets up a long table in front of the store and dumps jewelry into bowls for one to scour through. I found these for $10 dollars each. Nice heavy metal link chains. MY PEACE of JEWELRY - handcraft jewelry

INSPIRATION - Tibet

Image
Every person has a their aesthetic - what they find beautiful. In my case, one of my main inspirations is Tibetan jewelry, which shapes the look of MY PEACE of JEWELRY . Take for instance these beads. I bought them about two years ago at a bead convention in Santa Monica. They were the last set of beads. I failed to find what were the beads called. They're just beautiful. Having no clue what I would make with the beads, I stored, until I was inspired to make something. I made these necklaces (just recently making the two strand necklace). MY PEACE of JEWELRY They are my favorites. I posted my three-strand necklace on Etsy asking for $150. A potential buyer emailed me asking if I would consider selling for $120. I replied, it's my only necklace and I don't have enough beads to make a second one and I don't know where to get more beads, but, if I am able to secure more beads and make a second one, then I will sell the original to her at $120. So my pursuit began ...

Revamp, Redo, Redesign, MY PEACE of JEWELRY

One of the nice things about being a hands-on jewelry designer, you can re-design a piece. For instance, I decided to re-design this necklace. I did not feel the design. It was hard to pair with anything.

MY PEACE of JEWELRY - "Skinny" Pants

Now is the perfect time to wear suede pants. It's cool outside, but not raining, so you can't damage the fabric with wet marks.

How I Wear MY PEACE of JEWELRY

Image
Believe it or not it was raining extremely hard last week in California. I am saying believe it or not because this whole week it has been hot as H-E-double toothpicks hot. I am going to take pics of the outfit that I am wearing today and eventually post it. People have been taking double takes at my pants. You will see why when I post. Anyway, here are some pics of my outfit on that rainy day, which by afternoon turned sunny. As for jewelry, I kept it simple. I wore MY PEACE of JEWELRY   necklace. It's a link chain with a Sea Bean pendant. You ask, "what is a Sea Bean?" Ok, maybe you did not ask, but I am going to tell you anyway. Sea-beans (also known as drift seeds ) are seeds and fruits that are carried to the ocean, often by freshwater streams and rivers, then drift with the ocean currents and (hopefully!) wash ashore. I pulled the definition from THE Sea-bean website. I kid you not! There is a Sea-bean website ! It's hilarious. It has Sea-bean stories featu...
