Window Shopping for MY PEACE of JEWELRY

Image
After finishing MY PEACE of JEWELRY necklace, I realized I did not have any clothing to wear with it. Everyone has their own fashion sense, but I would like to be able to show how I envision the necklace to be worn. So! I decided to go to URBAN OUTFITTERS on my lunch break and scour the floor for an appropriate blouse, dress or t-shirt to buy - then photograph myself in the finished outfit. Now there was a little problem. Even though I found a couple of blouses, I can't afford to buy them until payday - September 1st. So instead, I bypassed buying the blouses and photographed myself in the URBAN OUTFITTERS changing room.   WEDNESDAY, August 24, 2011 - Farmer's Market URBAN OUTFITTERS - white button-up blouse on sale $9.99. URBAN OUTFITTERS - Tribal blouse on sale $29.99 MY PEACE of JEWELRY Sold on Etsy www.zeedubya.etsy.com

How I would Wear MY PEACE of JEWELRY

Image
Bought this dress from a street vendor on 3rd street promenade in Santa Monica, CA. It's a light linen material. I knew I did not want to pair it with one of my statement necklaces, so I decided on pairing it with a few of my charm pendant necklaces. This is what I came up with, bohemian chic.

Photo Bloopers!

Yesterday, I was photographing myself and it's not easy! Honestly, I don't like being in front of the camera. I just want to take some photos of MY PEACE of JEWELRY and be done with it. I love to make MY PEACEs but photographing is a different story. Don't get me wrong, I like it too, but I feel there is a creative flair that I lack. You go to these different blogs and view the pics and I am in AWWWWWW LAND. Their pics are so beautiful, artistic and perfect. The layouts are perfect, the posing is perfect, the expressions are perfect. Here are my pics from yesterday. Things I need to work on POSING FACIAL EXPRESSION I don't know WHAT to do with my body. Every pic my hands are down by my side. Let's not even talk about the face. I don't know how to fake-smile. And you can forget about the "soft" look. I'm 45 years old. I don't have a soft look. When I try to fake-smile my bottom lips starts to quiver. So what do I do instead?

I've made these simple necklaces that I think combined together look wonderful. Layering necklaces allows you to wear more than one of your favorite necklaces. MY PEACE of JEWELRY sold on Etsy www.zeedubya.etsy.com

Sold! on Etsy WO-MANNEQUIN

It's really cool to know something I made with my own hands was bought via Etsy by someone living in another state. So far on Etsy, I've sold 35 items. The purchases have not been steady, so I still get really excited when I log onto my computer, check my emails and I have a message saying "Congratulations on your Etsy order..."! I have to read the email a few times to make sure it's a sale and not a bill. Once the initial high is over, then I start to worry, "Oh no, wonder if the person does not like it?" or "Will they be disappointed when they open the package?" I try to ease my worried mind by saying, "I've posted as many pics as possible, so the customer can see exactly what they are getting". But I still hold my breath. This latest purchase was Monday, August 8, 2011. I sold my WO-MANNEQUIN - Head n' Torso to someone in Azle, Tx. I am not sure where that is but I did not know where King of Prussia, Pennsylvania wa

Photo Studio & Session

I work full-time, work part-time as a spinning instructor and I make MY PEACE of JEWELRY. My days and nights are full, but I would not have it any other way. But it's hard to find time to photograph MY PEACE of JEWELRY. So I do it at lunchtime at work. I used to be pretty embarrassed, but how many people can say they carry a mannequin, jewelry and camera on a bike, ride to a beautiful spot and take photographs in a beautiful surroundings as the UCLA campus. I have had a few people come up to me and compliment MY PEACE of JEWELRY. No one's bought anything, which is okay. I did give a cuff to someone once. Here are some photos from my last outing. As you can see from the first photo it did not start out too well, but my aim improved . Finished the photo session, packed it up, and headed back to work. :( www.etsy.com/shop/zeedubya
