MY PEACE of nutrition - Breakfast

I'm 47 now, and I am still struggling to find the right meal for breakfast. I want it to be quick, easy, filling and crunchy. Yes crunchy, meaning I want to feel like I am biting into something and not just chewing mush. In the past,  I usually made a strawberry-banana smoothie.I made those  for years.  I am tired of them and to be honest I just use too much sugar. Six packets of Equal in one Smoothie! That is scaring me. The other problem is when I finished my smoothie, my body temperature dropped so low that I was cold as hell. That's not cool in the Winter. I ran across a recipe in Shape magazine - for a   Breakfast burrito ! I think this is perfect. It's low in calories, a lot of protein, carbs and taste, plus it's easy to make and can be prepared at home or work. I want to be more aware of what I am eating and why I should eat certain foods. I eat too much processed food, i.e., frozen dinners, take out, potato chips. .   The easiest way to permanently change your diet; is change it moderately over time. Anything done drastically, will not last. So instead of forcing myself to eat ONLY fruit, I will add a piece of fruit per week. Last week it was an apple a day.   This week it's bananas.   A banana a day is a must have, according to "The Healthy Food Directory" by Michael Van Straten.   Why?   I am going to make my blog a little more personal. Improving my EATING HABITS. It will still feature jewelry I design and my outfits But I also want to learn and share what I learn along the way.  Beauty does start within.   I am 47 years old. I work full-time at a major college as an administrator and part-time teaching spinning classes 5 days a week. I'm in good health, extremely physically active but don't have the best eating habits.
