MY (new) PEACE of jewelry

Image
I love this PEACE! Ok, I love all MY PEACEs. MY latest PEACE that I made here features chunky Turquoise HEISHI (pronounced Hee-shee) beads hanging from a chunky brass Rolo Chain     What is heishi? Heishi beads originally come from the Navajos, a Native American tribe from the Southwest. Heishi means shell and in the past, referred to pieces of shell that have been drilled and hand rolled or ground into bead shapes and strung as necklaces.       What I like about this necklace, is it can be paired with other necklaces for a pretty nice bohemian look   I paired it with one of my multi-strand, various Link Chain Necklaces Available on Etsy   I paired it with a simple Rolo Chain         Necklace available on Etsy   Handmade Jewelry & Mannequins by Zalina

How I Wear MY PEACE of jewelry - Necklace layering options

Image
Just made MY (new) PEACE of jewelry  It's a necklace set mixing a multi-strand link chains  and one other necklace that features an awesome antique African brass ring from Nigeria. Each PEACE can be worn alone  Made of bronze and brass, these type of rings were used as fare tokens for transport in Nigeria. I don't know how old are these rings I have, but I fell in love with their simplicity and sturdiness. . As for the multi-strand link chain necklace, it's made of variety of chains that I have.  I don't like MY PEACEs to look new. It's part gun-metal link chains of different sizes  and small part gold-plated link chain.  I wore it this week for Thanksgiving with my casual attire LEVI jeans and an oversize sweater from Brandy & Melville Since my mother passed away, my brother has taken over the role of cooking Thanksgiving dinner.  Thanks, bro! Besides MY PEACE of jewelry , ...

How I Wear MY PEACE of jewelry - cords

Image
These are my favorite cords.  I've had them for a few years and they come out every Fall and Winter.  Southern California does not really have a Winter.  There's no Snow, no Ice, no Below Zero Temps.  Even on this day, which was a few weeks ago, it was Sunny. Paired the cords with my pirates of penzance shirt, Staring at the Stars that I got from URBAN OUTFITTERs , of course. It's lightweight, comfy and different from the usual "blouses" that are being worn today, by our fashion forward divas. Cords are skinny, stretch cords from The Gap MY PEACE of jewelry - EARRINGS I made these using brown bronzed wire, which I twisted,    Heishi Turquoise beads,  a nd silver dance bells. What is Heishi means? The literal meaning of  heishi  is "shell" and specifically refers to pieces of shell which have been drilled and ground into beads and then strung into necklaces. More and more frequently, how...
