"I LOVE my WO Mannequin!!"

Image
Fern from RockSpirit Designs in Virginia purchased one of my WO-MANNEQUINs   back in September. She was sweet enough to update me since receiving it. Below are her comments and photo of her booth. My WO-MANNEQUIN is on the right side, kind of hidden. But I swear it's there! Oh well, at least she thought about me. It made my Monday. "Hi Zee! I LOVE my WO Mannequin!! I may need another! What a terrific concept. Recycled paper bags into beauty. You are amazing! Fern"

How I would wear...

Image
I am going to start posting once a week, how I would wear MY PEACE of JEWELRY because it's always nice to see how a PEACE looks on someone. Also, I photograph my PEACEs on friends, family and strangers to show how my PEACEs can be worn. There is no wrong way or right way, just your way. Please remember, I am not a great photographer. I am still learning how to use all the different options. Here it goes. I am starting with this necklace. It's a 2-strand necklace consisting of big oval wood beads accented with two big round glass Turquoise colored beads. Taken July 20, 2010 MY PEACE of JEWELRY http://www.etsy.com/shop/Zeedubya

WO-MANNEQUIN - Head n Torso

Image
I recently posted on Etsy this WO-MANNEQUIN that I made out of paper bags and wallpaper paste using the paper mache' technique. It requires much patience. Since I can only post 5 photos on Etsy, I am posting the rest of the pics here, showing how the WO-MANNEQUIN can be used to display necklaces, earrings, hats, scarves and t-shirts. You can display a LONG earring from either profile, It accommodates hook earrings only. This WO-MANNEQUIN is awesome and is great for displaying everything! Mannequin - How I made it

Image
I made the Mannequin using grocery bag paper and wallpaper paste. I wrapped the original mannequin in Glad wrap (so I would not damage it with the wallpaper paste), tore up the paper bag into strips, brushed each strip with wallpaper paste and slapped it the original mannequin (several layers), waited for it to dry and voila, my Womannequin! I love it!

I sold something!

I really do love making jewelry. I mean I am single (meaning I can pass the time at home doing something other than watching TV), have a full time job that is not the most creative (it's not about creativity at all but it pays the bills), and it provides personal opportunities. As I said before, I never aggressively pursued selling my jewelry. Besides a friend selling some jewelry of mine at Fox, I've only sold a PEACE here and there. Now! I have decided to aggressively put my stuff out there. What do I do? Put it on Etsy. You ask what is Etsy? Etsy is a website that allows people like me, who make handmade stuff, to post online their items in a virtual online boutique. A seller can refer potential buyers to his/her shop online. My "website address" is www.etsy.com/shop/Zeedubya . What I like about the site is you can include online payment transation in one easy click of a button and you don't have to build your own website. Anyway, I posted about 18 items - some...
