How I Wear MY PEACE of jewelry - Tagua Nut & Seed Bead Necklace

I love this necklace!
I made it using amber colored seed beads
green Turquoise chip beads
a scattering of brass beads
and finally featuring a
Tagua Nut Pendant

What are Tagua Nuts

Tagua Nut,
also known as vegetable ivory, because of its hardness,
is the actual seed of a tree similar to a palm tree.
Tagua tree grows in the tropical rain forests of some South American countries,
mainly Ecuador, Columbia and Venezuela.

As for the outfit.
I'm wearing black pleather pants.
I know they are a little out of season, wearing them in the Spring.
But last week it was pretty cold, so they were okay to wear.
What I like about them, are they are light weight, comfy and rocker chick
all rolled up into an awesome pair of pants,
which by the way I bought a few weeks ago from
Urban Outfitters for
$10!

  2. Great pleather trousers, Zalina - I love that you wore a simple white blouse with them, and of course your gorgeous necklace. Thanks for sharing this cool look with Visible Monday!

  6. Tagua Nut ... who knew. I've seen these before, but never used in jewelry like yours. They become very elegant with your bead designs.
Wear your pants as long as you are comfortable. Especially with your white shirt and your kicks. I've a pair of coated denim that has a similar look ... I'll never be cool, but I feel closer when I wear these!
    Have a great week,

    1. Thanks so much Jan. I felt so comfy in the pleather jeans, but felt like I was wearing in the wrong season. Hey, it was cool last week and I felt like wearing them. By the way, love your printed pants this week.

  7. Definitely got the rock chick look down pat! I love the colors of the necklace - the amber and turquoise are so pretty together. I've seen Tagua nuts carved for jewelry, and they do look like ivory inside.

  8. Thanks much, Val. To be honest, I did not know that about Tagua nuts about them being ivory inside. I love the Tagua nut seed itself. I plan to make more necklaces featuring the seed but with different seed beads. :0)

  10. How beautiful is that white shirt contrasted with your lovely dark skin and those black leather pants! That necklace is stunning, too. I'd wear it in a heartbeat!
