MY (new) PEACE of jewelry - RE-DO!

Image
Agate and Ethiopian Bead Necklace featuring African brass pendant I redid this necklace. Here is what I originally made back in June It's a little different.  I removed the brass Rolo chain in between the agate strands  and added this lovely African pendant African Trade Brass Pendant made by the Baule tribe located in Ghana.  Using the lost wax technique, where wax is rolled into thin strips  which are formed into coils or woven into meshes.  A repeating feature throughout Baule Beads  is the regular parallel grooves that run throughout each of the beads.  Next is the sides and back of the necklace.  These are round white metal Ethiopian beads. Each bead is individually made. Finally the brown beads. I'm guessing they are Agate beads.  I love the striations. See how no two beads are alike? MANNEQUIN - DIY Different angled shots

Image
When I am considering purchasing something, it's always cool to see as many photos of the item. That is why I continue to take photos while I still have them until they are sold. I've taken so many straight on shots that I am beginning to take more shots at different angles which really feature jewelry very well and you get an opportunity to see MY PEACE of jewelry from all angles. Here are some shots I took a few weeks ago of my WO-MANNEQUINs Head n' Torso Measurements: Height - 28" Bust - 32" Waist - 25" Weight - 1 pound 5 ounces (very lightweight) Can hang HOOP or HOOK earrings from the ears. WO-MANNEQUIN Head n' Bust - Earrings!

Image
Over the weekend, I photographed some earrings that I made a while ago, but did not have time to take pictures. I finally did. Using my WO-MANNEQUIN, which I made as well, I think I got some really cool shots. Oh yeah! And I love the earrings, too. Xmas Break - MY PEACE vacation stay-cation

Image
I work for a major college in Los Angeles, where every year the campus is closed from Xmas to New Year's. Like most folks, I look forward to this time off, but not for the relaxation factor, but for my ability to commit my time to MY PEACE of JEWELRY. I work on new peaces and mannequins. It was a great stay-cation for creating. Made a "new" formed WO-MANNEQUIN, as seen here on the right. It's not finished. Will post when complete. It's a minature sized version of a woman's torso. The one on the left is a woman's head n' torso. Here are the ones I did finish. WO-MANNEQUIN - Head 'n Bust

Image
WO-MANNEQUIN - Head 'n Bust MEASUREMENTS Height - 19" Width - 11" Depth - 8" This one I really had a time making it. The ears were the hardest part because, when you make something by hand and not using a mold, there is no promise that they will result being the same size, level or quality. So it took a few tries to make the ears.
