Project Runway is back!

Image
If you are a fan of Project Runway, like me then you've obviously been watching the current season. This season seems pretty catty with some "spoiled" attitude some of the designers have. But there is one RAY OF LIGHT in the crowd. Sonjia (pronounce Son-gee). She's polite, upbeat and an awesome designer. I came across her blog Haute and Low Even though she has not posted in a while (probably she's busy with Project Runway), the postings that are there now shows that she is not only a fantastic designer but a fantastic dresser. Girl Stylin Crush - Julie Sarr

Image
If I had to say who's fashion sense I admire the most is this woman. I was browsing through various blogs, actually specifically through Van de Fashion  blog and she had this posting about Julie Sarr. I love her style. It's effortless, chic, masculine with a feminine edge and comfortable. Would I have the balls to wear an afro?!? Not there yet, but I am definitely feeling the vibe. Don't like the fact she smokes. Yuck! MY PEACE of JEWELRY

African-inspired Rustic MY PEACE of JEWELRY

I love these Olive Wood Beads! My latest creation is this necklace. Bib-style 3-strands of oval wood beads, merging into one strand off-white cloud patterned tube beads, finishing with colorful African Trade Beads.   Sold on Etsy www.zeedubya.etsy.com

Texture MY PEACE of JEWELRY

I don't like matchy matchy clothes or jewelry. For some reason, I like something to appear a little off. That is why I think this necklace (which I made) goes perfect with this striped t-shirt. It's all about merging the right colors. This necklace is 5-strands of opaque seed beads with intermittent Turquoise nuggets and brass cube beads with an extension chain to shorten or lengthen the necklace. The extension chain looks very sexy running down your back. Necklace length shortest - 31.5" longest - 37" More pic Pics with white t-shirt Sold on Etsy http://www.etsy.com/zeedubya

New MY PEACE of JEWELRY Necklace

Image
Just made MY PEACE of JEWELRY necklace here and I could not wait to take photographs, so I brought it to work. On my lunch break, I went on campus and "scouted" the perfect location. I did not really "scout", I had to go up there anyway to drop something off. Anyway, I found an area full of benches, where I thought it would be kind of cool. I am photographing more and more outside because I like to do it during my lunch hour when it's daylight and there is a lot of natural light. MY PEACE of JEWELRY is very organic, ethnic, nature-inspired jewelry and I want to express this in my photographs. Photographed a few in the sun BUT a little too bright! Photographed in the shade and I liked the outcome. http://www.etsy.com/shop/Zeedubya

Necklace in Progress - Bib Necklace?!?! - YES

Image
The latest MY PEACE of JEWELRY is in process. Below are the glass beads I am combining with the three strands of oval beads displayed above. I've decided to design a bib-style necklace. Bib style means a statement being displayed on your chest, wherein it can partially to completely cover one's chest - like a baby's bib. Almost finished! http://www.etsy.com/shop/Zeedubya

Gotta work somewhere...

Image
I have this tiny studio apartment. From the front door, if you take two steps you will be in the bathroom :). But I needed somewhere to work, so I turned one corner of the main room into my jewelry and mannequin work station, using wood planks and concrete blocks.
