How to practice self love

Image
What is practice self love? It's focusing on being your own best friend, being your own motivator, being your own best care taker, being your own rock, being your own support system.   Why is it required? Because if you keep searching outside your-self to be loved or feel loved, you will ALWAYS be searching. There are days, weeks, months or even years, you may not have someone in your life who "loves" you, but you can  and should count on loving your-self. Self-love doesn't happen by luck or the grace of God. You have to create it. Self love and self validation allows you to be happy from within and not waiting or constantly searching for someone to love you. That shit is exhausting. I know it's much easier said than done. I've struggled with it all my life. HOW TO practice self love Love yourself how you'd WANT others to love you. It's the easiest and the hardest thing to do but you have to start

How I Wear MY (new) PEACE of jewelry

Image
I just recently made this PEACE. Love it! It's for sale, but I am sure a potential buyer would like to see how it looks on a live person. So I have volunteered to display MY (new) PEACE of jewelry. I wear it to work with a grey t-shirt.  The Necklace is a spectacular PEACE that can be worn with jeans or dress.  In my case, it's jeans. Cardigan - thrifted, Buffalo Exchange grey t-shirt - Brandy & Melville dark blue jeans - Levi's ankle boots - Urban Outfitters Necklace - African Agate, Ethiopian White Metal and Ghana Brass Pendant available on Etsy Handmade Jewelry & Mannequins Zalina Designs

MY (new) PEACE of jewelry - RE-DO!

Image
Agate and Ethiopian Bead Necklace featuring African brass pendant I redid this necklace. Here is what I originally made back in June It's a little different.  I removed the brass Rolo chain in between the agate strands  and added this lovely African pendant African Trade Brass Pendant made by the Baule tribe located in Ghana.  Using the lost wax technique, where wax is rolled into thin strips  which are formed into coils or woven into meshes.  A repeating feature throughout Baule Beads  is the regular parallel grooves that run throughout each of the beads.  Next is the sides and back of the necklace.  These are round white metal Ethiopian beads. Each bead is individually made. Finally the brown beads. I'm guessing they are Agate beads.  I love the striations. See how no two beads are alike? MY PEACE of nutrition - Breakfast

Image
I'm 47 now, and I am still struggling to find the right meal for breakfast. I want it to be quick, easy, filling and crunchy. Yes crunchy, meaning I want to feel like I am biting into something and not just chewing mush. In the past,  I usually made a strawberry-banana smoothie.I made those  for years.  I am tired of them and to be honest I just use too much sugar. Six packets of Equal in one Smoothie! That is scaring me. The other problem is when I finished my smoothie, my body temperature dropped so low that I was cold as hell. That's not cool in the Winter. I ran across a recipe in Shape magazine - for a   Breakfast burrito ! I think this is perfect. It's low in calories, a lot of protein, carbs and taste, plus it's easy to make and can be prepared at home or work. If you make it at work, you can  prepare the ingredients the night before or in the morning before work (In order to not to be rushing, I suggest the night before), then when you get to work pu
