MY PEACEs go with me everywhere

Image
I was intending on taking new photos of MY PEACEs outside but it's Friday. What do I do sometimes on Friday? I have pizza and wine. The waitress wanted to see MY PEACEs. I had my new camera, which I really want to learn how to use the various settings. What better way to practice taking photos in low light. With my Canon PowerShot SX120IS set to an ISO of 1600, and an aperture of 2.8, I got these photos. Not too bad. It was really dim in the place. I only had two glasses of red wine and 3/4 of a mini-meat pizza :).

NEW Mannequin!

Image
First of all, I got my new camera and I love it! It's a Canon SX120IS. The photos of the finished mannequin, I took yesterday with my NEW camera. Anyway, besides making MY PEACE of JEWELRY jewelry, I make mannequins using grocery bags using paper mache' method. The mannequins can be used to display almost anything from jewelry, scarves, hats and t-shirts. I've sold a few on my etsy site. This latest mannequin, I combined the bust with a head. She's pretty ugly. Remember that line from the movie The Color Purple? "You show is ugly!" But hey! It's practical and will divinely display anything. You got to give me credit for reusing garbage bags! You are not going to find anything like this on the web. This is my first HEAD n' BUST mannequin. As I

My Camera broke :(

Damn! My camera broke. I have not been able to take any pics of my latest PEACEs. My camera was pretty old. It was - oh wait a minute I still have it - is a Canon PowerShot G2 (see above. this is not the actual camera, just a stock photo). I went to the camera store Monday to see if I could get it fixed. The guy took one look at and said that it had been dropped. I thought "ok, it's been dropped. Can you fix it? He looked at me, looked at the camera, looked back at me and said "No". They don't make parts for the camera anymore and besides it would cost over $200 to fix, if the parts were found, which is more than the camera's worth. My camera is so old. How old is it? The camera guy said that Canon has put out a PowerShot G11 (see below)! Oh well. I got a lot of use out of it. It was a gift from a really cool couple who takes my spinning class. The cost for the Canon PowerShot G11 $450 - $600. Ouch! I don't have that kind of money to spend. So I asked th
