MY PEACE - Cemetary & Boots

Image
Last Saturday, I visited a cemetary in my neighborhood, called Woodlawn Cemetary. I did not start the day out expecting to go to a cemetary; it just happened that way.It sounds kind of creepy, but I was lured to it because it's so beautiful. My mother passed away less than a year ago. Since the funeral I have not visited her grave. I don't want to. It's not necessary for me to see a plaque in the ground in order to remember her. I think about her everyday and have my memories too. Anyway back to visiting the cemetary. I am drawn to beautiful setings. In this case, it just happens to be a cemetary. I drive by it all the time and have always wanted to view the headstones close up. Started the day normal enough by riding my bike to the beach. Had a glass of wine at the Waterfront Cafe in Venice  (ok, maybe two glasses), then rode onto Main Street, visiting my favorite thrift store, Buffalo Exchange. Found these fabulous boots. Love them! As fo...

Photo Bloopers!

Image
Yesterday, I was photographing myself and it's not easy! Honestly, I don't like being in front of the camera. I just want to take some photos of MY PEACE of JEWELRY and be done with it. I love to make MY PEACEs but photographing is a different story. Don't get me wrong, I like it too, but I feel there is a creative flair that I lack. You go to these different blogs and view the pics and I am in AWWWWWW LAND. Their pics are so beautiful, artistic and perfect. The layouts are perfect, the posing is perfect, the expressions are perfect. Here are my pics from yesterday. Things I need to work on POSING FACIAL EXPRESSION I don't know WHAT to do with my body. Every pic my hands are down by my side. Let's not even talk about the face. I don't know how to fake-smile. And you can forget about the "soft" look. I'm 45 years old. I don't have a soft look. When I try to fake-smile my bottom lips starts to quiver. So what do I do instead?...

Necklace in Progress - Bib Necklace?!?! - YES

Image
The latest MY PEACE of JEWELRY is in process. Below are the glass beads I am combining with the three strands of oval beads displayed above. I've decided to design a bib-style necklace. Bib style means a statement being displayed on your chest, wherein it can partially to completely cover one's chest - like a baby's bib. Almost finished! http://www.etsy.com/shop/Zeedubya

Silver Saber Silky MY PEACE of NECKLACE on ZEE

I love this PEACE. I love all MY PEACEs. Recently made this PEACE putting together many silver chains mixed with a few various different sized and colored link chains. It's really two necklaces that can be worn together or each on it's own. The pendant, I put on it's own chain, called a Rollo chain. Here are some pics of the necklace on me. Silver Saber Silky MY PEACE of NECKLACE

I have two of these pendants and incorporated each one in a necklace; one where it is featured and the other it's not. The pendant is sterling silver measuring approximately 2 inches long and 1 inch wide made in Tibet. Online, the bead is described as a Tibetan Brass Repoussee bead. What is "Repoussee" you might ask? Well Repoussee is a metal working technique of embossing a metal sheet (silver, copper, brass) by punching and hammering a design from the back, then polishing it up in front with a chasing hammer, producing a three-dimensional base-relief surface. The techniques of repoussé dates back to the 3rd millenium BC in the Middle East. Anyway, that is a little history of the featured pendant. Now here are some photos of the necklace I made. I call it my Silver Sabeer Silky MY PEACE of NECKLACE. I love this PEACE. Well, I love all MY PEACEs.
